I have been following the threads on here for the last month since I got my new truck, and I wished I would have researched in here before I bought it. I’m on my 4th Tacoma. I started with a ‘96, then a 2004, next 2013- All purchased brand new and never had any issues except the head gasket recall on the ‘96 and I replaced the springs on my 2013 with OME Dakar. Well in December, I was able to get a good price on a 2019. It has all the dealer crap on it , but I’m okay changing out as I go since I keep my trucks for the long term. Well, I’m already concerned about the regear , so that’s about $4000 including a rear air locker, and was already planning on a leaf spring upgrade at some time. Anyway, so the Entune is rebooting, and they put 33” tires on the truck, but didn’t
calibrate the speedometer. So I was on the interstate thinking I’m going 75 and I’m doing 80 with mpg at 12 and downshifting just to keep up. This week it’s going back to the dealer.

Thankfully, I have not sold my 2013. I would like to get some opinions. Should I take this opportunity to try to get out if it. There is a case that could be made about the lack of calibration screwing up the odometer, or should I let them fix it. I recorded a video showing my gps vs the Speedo. The differences are exactly the same points when going from stock size to the 33’s. Has anyone else dealt with this before?

If it was me I would let them calibrate the speedo but that's a personal preference. As for your Entune rebooting, what type of phone do you have? A buddy of mine was having a similar issue a month or two ago and it turned out it was happening because Apple pushed out an updated iOS and Entune wasn't compatible with the new version. He took it into the dealer and they were able to update then Entune software in the truck and he hasn't had the issue since.

I've got 33's and a lift. I've never had 12 MPG. I average about 18 MPG on OVTune and 91 octane. Not sure what's going on with your truck. Post your tank average fuel economy pic! 12 MPG has to be wrong.

I’m using an IPhone -going through Bluetooth for calls. As far a gear prices, I’m approximating 2600 for the gears and install, then adding for the ARB rear locker and compressor. I live an hour away from ECGS, so thymes would be doing the work. Days were spent reading both the 5.29 and 4.88 thread. Also I expect the springs to not be able to hold much more than a bag of groceries. The issue with the gas mileage and the speedometer calibration is I’ve been thinking I’m going 70-75 on I95, the MPG, transmission, odometer, is off ... this is a brand new truck... On all my other Tacoma’s, I did a few mods , like springs or bigger tires, but those trucks were functional, and performed great being mostly stock. I like the truck, but I will see what happens with the dealer. They are providing a loaner, and said they will have it for a few days.
