    Hello all,

A new Tacoma here in the Seattle Area. Had a choice between a 2015 and 2016, ended up with the 2015 because you never buy the first year of a new model especially when they have a new transmission and engine, plus the $8K difference is very appealing.

Have done a few mods right out of the box including some gun metal Level 8 wheels graced with TRD caps, side steps, roof racks, tonneau cover, and a number of obnoxiously loud items inside with the letters JL printed on them.

Glad to be a part of this community now.

    Thanks.

Welcome neighbor! Congrats on the new truck. I also went with a 2015 over the 16, but that was due to tried and true design plus the available 4.0 Supercharger. :D

Thanks Crash, I am also not sold on the new looks that much. The rear looks a bit like a Dodge, or RAM or what ever they call them today.

I am reading your headlight upgrade. I will have to do that. Maybe someday on the charger. Have to convince the Mrs. about that. The stereo was a hard sell.

Just doing the harness + bulbs on the headlights is definitely worth it, especially this time of year with the poor weather and being dark all the time. Without the Pro lenses it costs about $130. I did the same upgrade to my girlfriends escape. Easy sell for 'safety' at night. I highly recommend it.

The SC is no longer available as TRD cancelled the program, so no hurry. The manufacture (Magnuson) should be bringing them back early next year though.

Thanks for the Welcomes Tacorgidor, Crashburn80, Navvelfunk, and Over da Hill.

Crashburn, one question that was asked, but I didn't see the answer, but I though I'd ask again; With the much increased wattage, the housings don't get overly hot, discolored or warped?

The SuperCharger was not available when I bought mine a few weeks ago, but I know they will come back. Just like with the 3.4L, they will be everywhere in a little while for less money.

Heat is not an issue with the 85w bulbs, the lenses will remain cool to the touch. In the thread another member posted that they ran 130w and the housing got to something like 101 degrees measured with a laser thermometer, I wouldn't recommend going that route.

    Thanks Odnarem for the welcome.

Crashburn, I finally read your whole post and I thank you for not only writing it up, but taking the time to find an all around viable lighting solution. Parts are ordered.

I pulled off a George Costanza, told the DOL how sad and pathetic my life is and that I am a total zero and I really need a license plate that reflects that.

    I live in Seattle.

    hahaha! Good reply!
Check the NW WA Meet thread, and meet some of the local boys, and come bang up your truck! It's a good group, lots of advice. A few opinions, beer.
