    Hello!

Looking at moving on from the 3rd Gen 4runner and into a new style Tacoma.

Have my eye on a 2020 TRD Sport with 30k miles. Things to look for?

Excited to start this build as I plan to order a GOfast soon!

    Hello to the forum!

    (4runner for sale!)

Drop the skid and look by the power steering pump to make sure it’s dry. You want to make sure timing cover Is not leaking.
Also look in the back near the tranny and make sure no pink antifreeze has dried and run down on the bell housing. Check the frame if from an area where they use salt. It’s too new to have damage but if it has salt residue under there be sure to clean and re paint. Look into rust protection. If your buying from a dealer and it has any of those leaks make sure they fix them other than that see how it drives and ask for a car fax. Overall great truck ; and will give you good service .

Thanks guys, I will see if they will check those items. It’s at a Chevy dealer and they grabbed it at auction. It does have a small spacer lift. Looks to be 2”x1.5. Pros and cons of that? I will upgrade eventually but wonder if they need things like a diff drop as my 4runner did.

    Appreciate the feedback!

And it is in New England so the minor corrosion has already started. Fluid film twice a year has been the one thing I found to work!

One more thing . If it has a lift make sure there are no vibrations in the front on test drive. If it does throw it into 4WD hi ( which you should check anyways ) and see if the vibes go away . There is a needle bearing that can go bad, that will need to be replaced to a bushing to make the issue go away

Thanks for the info and recommendations, very helpful.

    This are some options ATM--

Milage is a little higher then I was looking at, not sure I need the TRD PRO but leather and some accessories are nice!

This has the spacer lift, long bed, more room for camping.

Theres some more around for about the same price, 35-40 is my budget.

I would if it were me look deeper at the second one the sport . The black pro looks beautiful but I feel like there’s more too this . Also keep in mind the fox shocks at that mileage are coming to there rebuild time. If you can physically see both take a look

I took the Sport for a ride and it went great. Little concerned about the fact they grabbed it at auction and I haven't seen the carfax yet. I do like the long bed, but no sun roof and leather is a negative for me. Price is better.....

Thanks for the help and recommendations.
