Just got a 21 TRD Off Road 4x4 DCSB. What are the do’s and don't?
Everything’s pretty much stock except I just installed a TRD skid plate.

Do take into consideration the potential effects on your warranty that any mods or tunes you are contemplating will have. Not saying don't do them, just take it into consideration when making your decision.

Drive it in hilly terrain, don't do any long freeway jaunts and try to keep things to shorter trips, don't tow. Break your engine in correctly and it'll have more power and last longer.

Don't buy mods right away. Drive it stock for a while and see what YOU want, not what other people say you should get.

Don't think too hard about this stuff, it's just a truck. Do drive it and enjoy it. Do be thoughtful about what mods you want to make right out of the gate; some certainly can affect your warranty coverage.

Have fun brother; these are great trucks!

Don't ask what's the largest tire size that fits without rubbing. Please, for the love of God, DON'T.

Do... get some seat covers for it along with a bed mat. I've become a believer of these hard ceramic coatings to protect the paint...not cheap, but if you plan to keep the truck many years, its worth it.

Do enjoy the heck out of it.

Don't overthink modding it out. If you want it, plan for it. if it's just something "everyone is doing" think real hard before adding it to the todo list.

Don't rush around dumping money into mods.

Being patient and doing them as they feel appropriate is a much better way of doing things than turning around and dumping all the toys on a month in.

Firstly you are much more likely to know what you want to get out of them and will be able to make more informed choices as opposed to winding up with expensive parts that don't fit your needs, or cheap ones that you wind up replacing anyway later on.

Second, it makes the process more fun. No matter how much you like a vehicle the excitement wears off over time, every time I add something significant to mine it makes it feel new and exciting again.

    What's lunch money?

Congrats, OP! Enjoy it! Don't let people here convince you that it needs anything other than gas and regular maintenance. Come to your own conclusions about you want it to do, then make a plan to get there.
