Yeah, for "shorter trips" I meant, don't do a long road trip cross country. Shorter heat cycles help everything temper. I probably should have clarified.

And up and down hills are one of the best things you can do for a new motor. Especially coasting down hills. It helps the rings bed in from both acceleration and deceleration forces. And it helps vary the rpm/load for short amounts of time. It basically emulates a Dyno break in.

Don’t buy mods just because they are cheap… if you are going to replace a part on your truck make sure the parts you are putting on are an actual upgrade from the stock parts (think cheap suspension lifts, drop in LED headlight bulbs, etc). Love that your first mod was the skid plate. Well done and welcome!

sometimes mod's are done then something else does not work anymore, then people are removing the mods ,last one first, to figure out which one effected something, mostly when electrical mods are done.
when a question is asked about an issue the reply is "what mod's have you done"
i did ECT on at start, tweeters and front door speakers but all plug and play, i am not cutting wires.

Don’t: buy blocks and spacers to lift your truck.

Do: Drive it. Research and buy quality mods.

Do: Prioritize engine performance modifications BEFORE aesthetic accessories.

Honestly, limit your time here on TW. When I first started, I found a lot of reasons to not like my truck because of complaints other people had. I had noticed the shifting to be a little strange but then I really started to notice it the more time I spent reading about it. Just remember, it's okay to be completely satisfied with your truck in whatever state it's in. If you want to keep it bone stock, go for it, you can be happy. If you want to mod the shit out of it, go for it!

Also, get the bed mat and bed lights. The best two (and pretty much the cheapest) OEM accessories you can add.

I dunno I find most of the complaints are actually make me like mine more because they are illegitimate.

or the complaints are caused by stupidity, I.e I put 37” mudders on my truk and now it’s slow and gets 10mpgs and my safety tek is broke

(Some are valid, like flaking white paint, + shit show of 2016 first model year issues )

There is nearly nothing one can do to make these engine have “performance” other than the supercharger which may questionably affect the #1 attribute of this truck, it’s reliability
