    Hey guys,
Long time stalker - first time poster...

Just got me a new 2015 Access Cab TRD. What wax/sealant does everyone recommend? How often to clay bar? How often should I use the wax/sealant?

Forgot to add. The new truck is silver sky metallic....Also, how often should a wax and/or sealant be performed?

I live in Texas - so ice and/or salt is rarely if ever present, and furthermore, we are coming in summer, so it be hotter than the surface of the sun soon.

You will want a sealant. Wax will melt off in Texas heat. There are several good Sealants out there. I use Adam's Paint Sealant but check out Autogeek.net as well. Several products there.

I use zymol wax. I have use it for years . I wax mine twice a year. I get it at WalMart but not all of them carry it. But auto zone has it. It is great stuff. As for clay bar, I have only done it once and that was only because it got over spry from work.

The paint on my new 2015 Access cab three weeks ago was very very good, much better than my 04 Pontiac.

I washed with Blue Dawn to get all the surface dirt off, then clayed. I went over each area twice while I was there, not sure that was necessary. I did find one lump in the paint on the passenger side clam shell door, but only one.

I am sure there are other good products out there, I have been using Zaino since about 2005; fully expect to detail my new Tacoma once annually and have very very good paint at trade in time.

If you are willing to put in the effort this stuff is ridiculous!

    Zaino Show Car Polish

If I had a personal driveway to wash my own car I would definitely put this on my truck. Amazing results. Unfortunately I can only hit automatic car washes - which is no good if you really want to polish and protect your vehicle.

Given Texas I would go with a sealant that contains UV protectant first. If you really wanna wax it after the sealant cures go ahead, but you'll need to strip the wax before you re-apply a sealant.

Most of the drive-in places are cool about bucket washing and clay bars and so on if you get in there late at night when there are other bays open for other customers to use.

Be prepared to drop a lot of quarters and not go to work the next day...
