    Hi all.
I'm a new member from Vancouver, Canada.
Have been looking very hard at a new Tacoma lately. Would consider pre-owned, but these damn things hold their value so well!

Current rides include a 2010 Corolla XRS 5-speed auto and a 2016 Mustang GT performance package 5.0 with a 6-speed manual.

Owning 2 cars in a congested city with limited parking is wearing on me. Not to mention paying for two insurances, 2 sets of car maintenance. Lastly, unfortunately, driving a V8 stick shift car around town with all this congestion, road work, broken roads is wearing me thin. I barely have time to get the Mustang into 3rd gear and bam, red light, or construction zone. In a nutshell, I barely have enough room to actually use my car and owning it as not the experience I thought it'd be.

I'm sad to say it's time to move on and I've always liked the Tacomas (as well as the Colorados, admittedly). I like that i can tear up the gravel road to my gun range or go camping or take it off road without having to ask my girlfriend to take her Dodge.

My only concern with the Taco is the city gas mileage versus a full size truck like an f150 or Silverado.

    Thank you :)

Welcome Jim to TW . Gas mileage might not be the best but when it comes to reliability and Toyota holding the resale value it's a win-win situation if you always liked Tacomas

Do you need to know, or care?
Welcome Jim. I can tell you, gas mileage will suck in the city, especially hilly Van.

If you plan to tow anything (bigger than a small utility trailer or boat), or need a lot of payload capacity, the Tacoma isn't for you. If you're looking for a good, solid, dependable, economical truck to get you to and from your gun range, camp, home/work, etc., the Tacoma is for you. They are awesome little trucks with great aftermarket support. Plus, a brand new Tacoma costs about $10,000 less than a comparable full size F150, Silverado, and the like. Plus, in city driving, the Tacoma would be WAY easier to drive.

Good luck with your decision, and let us know how it pans out!
