Same here. I have no need for a new model with fancy bells and whistles. And as for MPG's, if I was worried about them that much then I wouldn't be driving a truck

Gonna guess the majority here just want to see the damn thing, and then there's the percentage that plan on buying one regardless, and then those that will wait it out.

Don't blame ya, now that Toyota has finally said something within the past however many years everyone wants a piece of it in one way or another. Whether that's shitting on how it's gonna look the same or a complete overhaul.

I will say there'll be a better trd upgrade package, crawl control, and terrain select for sure.

I'm not really worried about mpgs. I dont plan on getting rid of my current tacoma. I just see a lot of people talking about better mpgs, and i don't think they're gonna get much better than 24-25. I get a little less than 22 highway as it is.

If my 6spd didnt cruise the highway at over 2500rpm I would probably be able to see over 20, but I've never been close. Current tacomas have very outdated engines and trasmissions. The 4runner is a slight upgrade to the 4.0L, but the 5 spd auto is dragging it down.

When I had a 6 speed I could barely get 19. I agree it's certainly old compared to the newer trannies, considering the amount of gears they're using now.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
The new Tacoma will probably get a 6 speed auto I imagine. They are probably going to drop the manual options altogether from low sales if I had to guess, but we will see. I'm just basing that off the trends of truck manufacturers not offering manuals anymore. Only trucks I know of that still have them optional is the Tacoma and Ram Cummins models. Chevy hasn't offered a manual truck since 2006 I believe and Ford dropped them after 2011 on the Powerstroke with the new 6.7 diesel. F150 hasn't had one in years, Toyota dropped it in the Tundra when the 2nd gens came out. Not even sure if Nissan still has a manual option for the Frontier.

It''s beyond me why so many Homers are tripping out about MPG numbers. :homer: If you wanted an economy car, why did you buy a truck? :homer: Only CARS are mandated by the Feds to get good gas mileage.:homer: That excludes trucks, minivans, hatchbacks, crossovers, vans, RV's, Hummers, and all of them things except actual Passenger Cars. :homer: It doesn't make any sense, spending moola on idiotic non functional bling for your truck and crying about MPG. :homer:

I don't put on a lot of miles so it doesnt bother me much, but I can see how it does to someone looking at buying a new vehicle. It can equate to a lot of money spent down the road.

What I dont understand is why all tacoma owners act like they own a full size truck when it comes to defending fuel mileage numbers. The response is always "I bought a truck I'm not worried about it". Personally I would rather have a full size truck that has way more room in it, can tow more, has more options and gets better mileage.

Fuel mileage and ride quality have started to be my main goal with my truck after test driving a new GMC all terrain. I'm setting my suspension lower and I have bought smaller AT tires. Getting rid of the mud tires and 5100 compressed coil lift should improve my ride quite a bit.
