The front quarter panel is definitely different than the current gen. The camo running along the side and bed is probably covering up major styling cues. Even if this has the same bones as 2005+ Tacoma the look will be substantially different.
The real question is what are they going to do to the V6? Hoping for a manual on the V6, but not betting on it. CAFE requirements are squeezing manual + V6's out of the market. If any company would buck that trend, then it would be Toyota. Toyota knows their Tacoma customers well. They probably frequent these forums even lol.

I dunno if these are in fact real not digging the grill or headlights at all. Narrow lights usually suit cars not so attractive on trucks at all. Guess we'll see in less then a month. What I see now however aesthetically is unpleasant.

seeing how they are posted by toyota themselves, I would say they are real.

Soon vehicles wont have a headlight housing, it will all just be blended in the front of the vehicle. I personally like the look of smaller housings. Once projectors are standard on all vehicles (bixenon) then there is no need for a big housing.

Do cab sizes look the same to you? Or for that matter, is the cabin the exact same cabin in the gen 2?

Fair enough it's all in taste. What I see now "not a full picture" therefore seems odd is all.

Same here. I'm not even a Tacoma owner yet. I currently own an Infiniti G35 I've had for the last 6 years. Great car but it's starting to fit my lifestyle less and less. I've done a lot of research and have decided that a Tacoma will likely be the best truck for me. Last week my buddy bought a 2015 and let me check it out. Long story short I really liked it and I went to the dealership the next day. We were REALLY close to a deal, but it didn't happen.

Anyways, I decided to wait until more information is released on the 2016. If MPG improves a good amount on the V6 and there are other changes that I like, I will jump on the 2016. If this is not the case, I'll try to get a 2015 when the 2016's are rolling in. Not sure if I want to go with an engine that is technically a bit outdated but proven reliable or be the guinea pig for the 2016 model if everything is new.

I've been watching the teaser video over and over. The new engine sound clean, but I cant tell if there is a hint of turbo in there. I wouldn't be surprised if they go this route, lots of manufacturers are offering turbo charged engines now.

You think that is the sound of the actual engine and not just some sound bite that their advertising agency is using?

Could be either, I would like to think the purpose of the video is to tease us with the new drive train, which would make sense for them to give us a little taste of the way it will sound.

    No significant mods....yet
Words of wisdom, I couldnt agree more. Lets just wait it out and get some consumer feedback. Exactly why I didnt wait for the new Colorado or Taco gens. New gens can be a risky investment. Im curious to what issues they'll have coming out the gate. Cant make an omelete without breaking a few eggs first

According to Auto MD there is no tsb's for the 2015 and there are 35 tsbs and 10 recalls for the 2005. So the 2015 should be a pretty solid truck.

That's been the case every year with the newest model year. It 'doesn't apply' until they propagate all of them to include the newest model year/VINs
