It's not a new truck - it's a major facelift to the old truck.
The squished-down hexagon grill is showing up on a lot of cars lately - Ford, KIA etc.

As for the styling, I don't hate it, I don't love it - I give it a solid "meh."

I really think with all the units Toyota sold they could have put more into the R&D and given us a completely new truck. Oh well. The Ford Super Duty is still the same chasis/cab since what, 1998? Guess it's not unheard of.

I think you're wrong and that it is a new truck. Maybe there is some carryover but not much.

Not crazy about the look, but this is the limited trim which isn't my favorite in the current model either.

I can't wait to drive the new engine.

Yeah its hard to tell. I noticed the center pillar between the front and rear door windows are black and aren't color matched to the trucks blue paint. Kinda gives th impression that the rear window is longer.

In one of the 100 other 2016 threads , Jerez said he overlaid pics of the 2016 and current DC cabs and they are the same

Makes me wonder if Toyota made any changes for more leg room now you guys mention the overlaid pics. If they did I think they might get rid of the rear storage area. Which would be a shame IMO.

I would hope they kept the rear storage. That comes in handy. I wouldn't get rid of my truck though anyway, unless there is some crazy impressive mpg increase. A jump of 5-6 mpgs wouldn't be enough to excite me.

Likewise! But only if it has as much or more power than the current v6.

That would be an impressive jump in mpgs. I'm gonna go out on a limb though and say they wont get much better than 26 highway.

I agree with a little more towing/hauling capacity short of going full size. Maybe the rumored Atkinson hybrid motor might be coming after all :D

If it gets 28 hwy I would be happy.... even if it has to be a hybrid setup.
