So basically all we learned was about the engine/transmission combo...lol. No stats or real information.

The 4runner and FJ have had the same crawl control for a few years now so yes, people do in fact know what it is and how it works.

Very nice Toyota. The GM folks must be having a heart attack. They spent all that time developing a "new" Colorado / Canyon to beat a competitor who's overall design was ten years old, and probably just got blown out of the water. If the new Tacoma's hp / torque / mpg are equal to or better than the GM twins, Tacoma will continue to lead the pack.
My wife saw me watching the live stream reveal and went upstairs to start packing my bags. Is that a bad sign? :) Oh well, have to go have a chat with my salesman tomorrow.

I was worried what toyota was gonna do to the tacoma, but looks like they realized there are plenty of guys that like to use a tacoma for fun and not simply for picking up the groceries.

The manual will probably still not be offered on the DCLB, which stinks because that's the configuration I want. And I prefer a manual.

Yeah the Colorado only got to bask in its glory for a couple of months until the news of the Tacoma came out today.

Speaking of which, does anyone know WHY you could never get a manual on the DCLB V6? I could never get a real answer out of anyone. Even a Toyota rep I spoke with an FJ convention.

To be honest it never basked in any glory, it was hit with a multitude of recalls right out the gate. I've only seen ONE on the streets since they were released.

Yeah I have only seen a couple on the road too. Even out local dealership doesn't have any in stock. They just wanna shove Silverados down everyone's throats because they get more money from them.

And over 3,000 stuck in Wentzville for QA re-review because hundreds were missing firewall insulation, had their ventilation tubes installed backward, or both.

There's a reservist here who has one. Saw it last Friday. It has some nice features and the overall body styling isn't too bad. I wouldn't ever get one compared to what else is out there.
