It just dawned on me that in 2003 toyota came out with a new 4runner body style then two years after came out with the 2005 tacoma which was largely similar, but had slightly better styling.

In 2014 the new 4runner design came out and 2016 would be the same amount of time for them to come out with a new tacoma based of the same design. I expect the new tacoma to look similar to the new 4runner.

It could very well look similar to this.

If they are going to put on that front end off the 4Runner, then I want the transfer case shift lever it has instead of the dial.

My 2013 T4R has a dial too. Do the new ones have a shift lever?

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
Not if you buy used. I honestly don't see how people afford new diesels that cost 60k, the old ones were better anyway. I'd take my 7.3 over any of the new diesels out there, I know it will likely still be running 20 years from now and most of them will be in a scrapyard somewhere.

I actually really like that. Just hope they do something else with the cab and bed other than a front clip.

The next Tacoma is all new. It's on the record from Toyota corporate. It won't recycle any sheet metal from any existing Toyota.

That is actually a big bit of clearance difference if you have ever taken your truck off road. I do like the Colorado ZR2 concept though. Looks like it could function in environments outside of the sprawling strip malls and subdivisions.
I live in Wyoming, and spend my leisure time in the mountains. I can't have a sissy truck like a Coloraydo. I need a Taco. Reliable, capable, and damn sexy.

The tacoma in 2005 was all new too, but based heavily off of the 2003 4runner.

You guys are a bunch of downers lol. Do you NOT want a new Taco? Do you want them to keep this body style another 10 years? Sheesh.

But not anything like the previous tacomas, so if we do the math correctly the 2016 will be "all new."

I want to see a new design, but I also want to see the current problems on the models for that last 10 years fixed. Why will this one be any different if they still don't have remedies for the current recalls? That makes me believe that the new redesign will have a good chance of having the same problems as these.

Because the components will be different, why fix something that's going to be switched out with newer parts? They will all have their faults anyways, it's time to move on

The current Taco has been out-dated for more than 5 years. Gets the same MPG as a GM 5.3 liter V8. It's time for a new Taco.

I'm not so sure the new tacoma is gonna get much better gas mileage. The new 4 runner is pretty close to the current tacoma in mpgs.

Unless they have some crazy new motor they've been developing.

If that's the case then why not just put whatever leaf springs they're using on the 16's in ours?
