My 2015 came standard with these lights.. I like them but wish I knew how they were installed .. would like to see if there was a way to move it to a switch .. don't like the way Toyota has it with only door ajar or unlocked

If you look a few pages back, tomwil posted the installation instruction for the Tacoma. You can always disconnect it and add a switch.

Did u do the install urself? I'm presuming the bed needs to be cut to fit the lights and the switch.

Use some rtv8 silicone. Dab a couple of dots of hot glue to hold it while drying

They look good. Not sure the lumens or switching.
Imo not worth the $60 they are asking.

I wish they were more in the ballpark of $30, then I'd pick myself up a pair. I agree with many others that the LED strip route doesn't look as good to me.

These look like a typical aftermarket LED setup like you'd see in a dome light festoon type setup or something. I wonder if something a little better could be retrofitted in.

Been lurking for a while now and came across this mod. I did it today, it's my first mod on this truck, and am completely satisfied with the results. Ordered from Bev Smith Toyota via eBay. Thank you for the information!

Regarding the lights on with keyfob press....how long does that keep them on? keyfob press as in either LOCK or UNLOCK?

I've got the light strips and they are falling off too, even to the poin of stressing one of the connections so only one strip works.

If these lights come on with the dome light with opening the doors do they come on when dome light is switched to the on position so that they stay on?
