    Well, it's used.
    85,000 miles
    2.7 5speed manual
    4x4

At the bank finalizing right now.

Might need a new clutch soon, very small minor oil leak, and it makes a weird sound in reverse.

    I used to have an 05trd v6

I'm pretty exited to get this paper work finished!

Any opinions on the weird reverse sound ? I remember my v6 also had a weird reverse sound, but this one seems more high pitch, is that normal ?

Congrats on the new baby, and welcome to TW!

Is this an '05 as well? It sure looks a lot like mine (before the new bumper anyhow). I've got manual trans too, but there's really no high pitch whine in reverse unless I'm going at a pretty good clip, but nothing that sounds like there's something wrong... I think the higher gearing makes reverse sound like that, though. As someone that only ever owned manual transmission trucks, I think you just get the ear for knowing when something's wrong or not in that department.

I probably wasn't very helpful, but there's a lot of really knowledgeable guys in here that'll have some ideas, I'm sure!

    It's an 08.
After driving a bit more I think the noise is normal and nothing to worry about, my old 05v6 used to make a very similar sound. I think it's higher pitch since it's a four banger.

It's in really good shape, there is pretty much zero rust on the frame.

    Has plenty of pep.
    I'm really happy with it.

Now the question is, to lift or not to lift?

I'd first swap out all of the fluids....than a moderate lift and of course new tires and a new set of aftermarket wheels, than a nice steel bumper front and back. Oh yeah you're gonna need some ditch lights, a shorty antenna, bottle opener for the bed, bed mat and maybe some..... all kidding aside, it's your truck so do what makes ya happy. When I bought my used 09 I concentrated on the mechanical stuff first, spark plugs, filters, fluids and the like. I did buy new tires, a nice set of used wheels from a fellow TW member, intermittent wipers, fog lights etc.
