If the tailights are on, there's interference. Turn signals and brake lights also cause it to a lesser extent. I could sit there in my truck and turn the lights off and on, the radio would go from complete static to nothing. Pretty sure the cause is crappy quality LEDs and/or boards. Had the same problem with LEDs from a reputable vendor. I was able to fix it with ferrite beads. I tried it on these and it didn't help. I have a replacement set coming, but won't be able to swap them until next week. I don't have high hopes.

Lights on constant static. Lights off no static until brakes or turn signal are applied.

    ^ gotcha.
With your problem being on all functions(parking lights, brake and turn) I'm leaving towards a ground loop issue. If it were me, I would de-pin the ground off the tail light connector and re-ground it to the frame itself. If the issue still occurs, it has to be in the resistor/led driver.... good luck man.

Could you just tap a ground into the lights with the same effect?

I am very sorry for this. We are currently waiting to get back any lights with this same issue so that we can do some testing in house.

Im glad to hear that your replacemnt is on its way to you. When you do receive the replacement, please do let us know if that issue is still happening. So far its seems as though its a hit or miss issue and something we definitely step up with in regards to our quality control

Thank you for this idea. I'll forward this info to our R&D person when he receives a set of lights back.

I'd like to close out this message to say that these issues that people have been having are something I am taking very closely as I am a Tacoma (although not a third gen) owner as well, and this is also the reason I have also been willing to use my personal account to answer and address any issues.

Please if there are any other issues that you may have heard of even from people not on the forum feel free to post on here or PM me

Thank you very much for the videos. This explains the issue very well and I have shown it to our R&D guy. I really appreciate the time you have taken to do this.

That would require an insane amount of alcohol to turn those into super models!

Took all of 5 minutes to make. I'd like to get this figured out without having to chase electrical gremlins. For now, I have uninstalled and emailed the vendor back with the issues I'm having. It's only been one day so I don't expect much but would like a solution soon as these are $365 paperweights.

I appreciate the email and replied; I am by no means complaining about this product as they look great and change the look dramatically. The customer service I have received from both winjet and Tacomabeast has been second to none. I am willing to bet that Toyota went back to incandescent bulbs in 3rd gens from the OEM LEDs in late second gens so they could cheap out on wiring. At the end of the day, we're trying to make something work with something that wasn't built to handle such.

Again, I am beyond appreciative of everything both Winjet and Tacomabeast have done to make things right, I will continue to support and promote both companies.

Was there ever a fix for the radio static? When I kick my lights on the radio goes from working fine to static...not complete static but background static....
