So being a new TRD PRO overlord, coming off of a 2nd gen Tacoma the auto climate control feels foreign to me and the new dash is kind of overwhelming with the amount of information it has.

I'm just curious what setting you guys drive around with and how to best utilize this new auto climate control, because I still use it as a manual.

First i've noticed that when you put it into auto, it makes the fan go to full blast and it always goes to the feet setting. Why is that? My buddy who owns a Mercedes told me it goes to feet, so it wouldn't blast the front occupants in the face, that makes sense, but you get warmer a lot faster when using the head and feet setting with a medium fan setting. The fan always goes to full blast when I use the front defroster, without me being in auto. Does it go down after a while? I normally have to manually turn it down.

And lastly the auto a/c option, is it normally for summer months? Because it makes the a/c button light up in auto mode even when I have the temperature set to like 75 or 80 degrees, and the a/c does not turn off even after 5 min of driving. I think its kind of stupid having the a/c compressor run when I select a hot temperature setting, the auto a/c makes sense for the summer, but its weird that it turns on in the winter as well. The manual says it suppose to turn of, has anybody experienced that.

It seems to me the auto climate control is really good for long extended drives, as it keeps the temperature steady, I remember constantly turning off and on the fans in my 2nd gen as it would get too hot or cold on long drives.

Lastly what do you use on your center dash, it seems an overwhelming amount of information compared to my old second gen tacoma. I've been using the nav compass with street speed limit screen, which is second option. Having the digital speedometer is cool, but it seems too much when you have an analog one. I'm interested to see what other people use.

I use digital speedo with fuel/ mileage left. I almost never look at the analog speedo.

As far as the climate controls it will use AC when nessecary to maintain your auto temp setting. It isn't perfect and sometimes you will manually override it to dial in your preference like when you first start your journey. After a while you will switch between manual and auto without even thinking.

I almost forgot the AC will come on to moderate humidity iirc.

Digital Mileage w/fuel remaining and 72* on auto. Set it and forget it. If you need to warm up faster, fire up that seat heater you have. That will make you uncomfortably warm in a really short time.

Digital speed w/ the instant mpg bar. AC isn't auto, so you have to press the AC button when you want the compressor to run. But I keep it between 68-72
