Someone may have already mentioned this, but couldn't YOU, the OWNER, hide one in the car and
just reverse the game on 'em... ?

And why wait till the car gets home, why not just steal it out of the parking lot it is sitting in.

I read about this fuckery a few weeks ago when it was posted here. I got my club out of storage and been using it since then. Okay, so now I do this too (see above, thanks) to discourage these bastards. Stuck in an apartment until summer waiting on new house build:frusty: and only drive the truck once a week or so.

I see all the "smash and grabs" in the news going on around the country with little news of arrests/convictions. I feel this is only an extension of the same tolerated behavior. "Children and dogs will do exactly what they're allowed to do" and I'm choking down a political comment so I don't get booted. :anonymous:

Think those smash and grabs are bad, Jan 6th would like a word with everyone.

All and all, the apple tags being used to steal cars is a non issue. Everyone worries about the dumbest shiz on this forum...

Toyota paint failing should be something Tacoma world users should be worried about.

The comment about a stick being easier to steal than an Auto is accurate, so if I’m parking someplace where I’m worried about I’ll kick the front wheels hard one way.

Beyond that though my Taco is insured. If it gets stolen, it can be replaced fairly easily. I have a couple of other vehicles which that isn’t the case for so I focus more on keeping them safe.

Properly equipped tow truck won't care. Your front wheels will go on a dolly just fine whether they're turned or not.

That’s true, I’ve seen a Tow Operator spray the ground in front of the locked front wheels with Armor All and use that to make them slide easier.

Just in case you didn't know, people steal the bed mats but there is a mod you can do to keep people from taking it.

Well there is a bolt mod so you don't need to get a hard cover for the back.

Sure. Just pulling your leg though - I wanted the hard cover and ordered my truck with it back in 2016.

    lol i was gonna say.

all these geezers complaining about how bad new technology is...

you could probably steal my 1985 s10 blazer just by bumping into it. no tech needed.

I heard of a liquor store in California that has been robbed so many times, the owner priced all items to $951.00 so that ANY theft is a felony. :thumbsup:Of course, there is an instant rebate coupon for paying customers. Great idea, as long as they still prosecute felonies. :annoyed:

So in keeping with this thread, if I catch a car thief and give him physical injuries worth LESS than $950 in medical costs, will I then NOT be prosecuted?
What if I shoot them with a firearm worth less than $950?
What if I kidnap them and the ransom is less than $950?
