I am sold on the Goodyear Wranglers with the Silent Armor they are fantastic off road in mud, and on top of a mountain. I love them in the rain on the streets the tire is just a great all around tire. I have the 275/70-17s one size bigger then factory and I get a lot of complements on them. Got them at Sam's Club, they were the cheapest. Good Luck

I do 95% road driving, so I bought Bridgestone Revo 2s.

So far, they have been great. In stock size for 17", I got them for under $700 OTD installed from Firestone when they were running a promo.

    None yet! It's new!
I'll second what someone already said about the Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor. I put a set of 265 70 17s on my FJ and they look and work great. I've had them in some significant snow and they were above average in my opinion. Wet traction is good and they look good as well. Very aggressive looking in person - moreso than the pictures look. They have a 50,000 mile warranty from TireRack.

I just swapped them out for my summer wheels on the FJ and before putting them in my workshop, I tried them on the Tacoma - '09 TRD Sport, stock height. They fit perfectly and look fine.

Even if it's not the size you're looking for, the tires themselves are pretty nice. Quiet too. I've had 2 Jeeps before the FJ, with other tires and these Silent Armours are better than the other Wranglers, Michelins and the Toyos I had before.
