    Hello All,

Sorry if this question is beating a dead horse. Looking to get a set of new tires on my very stock OR taco. The stock tires are on their way out the door. I use it as a daily vehicle (stays on pavement for the daily commute), I hit the trails/dirt roads/etc. as much as I can on the weekdays, mostly weekend stuff. No extreme off-roading/climbing/trail wise. Just looking for something with a little more bite for the trails, back roads for camping, some mudding, etc. Also, I want to stick with the stock rims and no mods to the truck just to fit a new tire.

    Looking at these:
    - GOODYEAR WRANGLER ULTRATERRAIN AT
    - FALKEN WILDPEAK A/T3W
    - COOPER DISCOVERER ATP II
    - TOYO TIRE OPEN COUNTRY A/T III

The stock GY tires have treated me well, not to familiar with the other brand of tires. Any thoughts/suggestions would be appreciated.

Coopers have always done a good job for me at a fair price.

You should look closely at the Michelin LTX AT2.

The cooper ATP are a lower grade tire, I'm running a variant of them which are treating me good so far. But lots of mixed reviews on them.

What region are you in? Cold weather?

I'd suggest the Toyo or Falken if you get any snow.

The good years are good for cold but seem a little too aggressive for your usage.

I run Falken Mt 295 70 17 and they are the Ultimate it’s my second pair I had at3 first but then I laid on Mud Terrain joints and no noise.

I run winters as well, so I put the miles on my Coopers and when its cold swap over.

So far I'm happy with them. But they are not a top tier tire. But if you have a winter set it makes sense.

I would look into General Tire. 3-peak rated ATX with a 60k mile tread warranty.

Many of us daily our trucks then take it on the trails on weekends. If you go off road once a week, you're doing it more often than most of us here. Get the largest, most aggressive AT tire that'll fit. Cooper STMaxx in 255/85-16 on stock OR wheels will fit without trimming.

All your choices are dumb and will suck.

All your choices are the best mf tire ever made and if someone says otherwise they hate America.

There ya go, everyone's answers summed up OP.

    I vote cooper.

Yoko’s MT 37”! And send it! Jk, I stick to 265/75R16 trail runner AT 116T . Air them down to 10 psi on beadgrips to party.

Thanks everyone for the input, leaning towards the Falken or the Toyo tires.

Yep. I’ve been running the General Grabber ATX’s for about 15K miles now and I love them. My truck use is pretty much the same as yours.

Yes, they are E rated but I haven’t had any issues with the weight being a problem. Plus it’s nice knowing they’re a little bit thicker when you’re out on the trails.

I got a nice set of Bridestones on sale at Costco with an 80,000 mile warranty. Watch for their sale.

Their website says the ATX won't fit my truck. Only the APT, Artic, & HTS.

Gotcha. I have the 265/75/16. Not sure what you can and can’t fit on a stock OR because I have a somewhat lifted SR5, so different specs.

You’d have to do some reading around the forum to see if they would fit I guess.
