Hey I just got some new Cooper rugged trek on my Tacoma. One of the tires has this peel on the side wall almost like it was coated in something other tires don’t have the same shiny look. I can rub it off with my finger. Have had a lot of tires never seen this before. Should I be concerned or is it normal?IMG_1037.jpg IMG_1038.jpg

I've never seen a tire do that before. You can see it bubbling near the bottom of the side lugs too. I'd take them back and ask them to replace under warranty.

If it's just the one tire ask the tire shop to replace it.

Sent them a email and the tire shop. I used a little alcohol on a towel and it wipes off almost like it’s some kinda coating. its not even coated either. Some bare spots of tire that look normal. When I rub it looks like the normal tire. Probably will wear off but want to know what the shop and cooper has to say.

Looks like a mold release coating that wasn't removed from the tire to me.

That’s what I was thinking. Funny the tire shop never noticed or didn’t care haha
