What is the best replacement wheel for my 2010 tacoma access cab 2wd, to gain just a little bit of height with minimal effect otherwise.

Are you referring to a 5 lug truck?
If so check out the 5 lug section of this forum:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/forums/5-lug.114/
Some of the easiest swaps are from other Toyota or Lexus vehicles. They'll have the right lug pattern (114.3x5) and center bore size.
Look for wheels from Highlanders, RAV4s, Siennas, some Camrys.
Ive got Highlander 16" wheels on my 2013.
