Got new tires today, picked up the truck after the shop closed. The TPMS system never worked on the way home. It was lit up on the dash and stayed that way. Obviously the tires have air in them. Any ideas?

Does your 2020 show the tire pressure by tire on the dash, or just a trouble light? If just a trouble light there might be a "reset" that is required.

Start by checking tire pressures. It's indicating either an error or low pressure.

How long was your drive? It needs to be driven for around 20 minutes before they will show up again

it shows by tire and all of them had a double dash (no reading)

I did check the pressures and they are good.

Sorry OP for using your thread, but could someone recommend very good tires for wet and rainy road conditions? I have BFG K02 load rating C now in 285, they’re only 55lb per corner. They are not good for wet roads from my experience.

Drive it for a day, if it doesn't register then take it back to the shop.

Wildpeaks have been the best wet tire I've driven, the Toyo Open Country have been a strong runner up. I have not run the duratracs or coopers. But I've never been impressed with the KO2s.

And here's an unpopular suggestion, but bear with me: SL and XL tires are almost always going to be better in the wet than LT tires. On most brands they'll be made of a softer compound and will have deeper siping.

If wet performance is super important to you, ask yourself if you really, really, really need a C or E load tire.

Guessing they didnt program them to the truck. take it back monday, and get it sorted. OEM tpm sensors and autel TS508 and doing it yourself, for the win! Ski

I just got the continental terrain contact h/t. Great reviews for wet roads. I also don’t go off road so I have no need for that type of tire.

I’ve been running the BFG All Terrrains for nearly thirty years. Love these tires. Just put a new set on the Tacoma. I’ve NEVER had any issues with them in rain. But, I don’t drive like Mario Andretti in a hurricane either.

So just an update, it ended up being a broken TPMS sensor, they replaced and reprogrammed and all is well!
