Just switched my BFG P265 70 16s out with BFG ATs on my new 2014 tacoma. Now, the light is on. At first it blinked, then it just stays on. Any ideas? Are the new tires not properly inflated?

TPMS light. Could need air or sensors messed up. Did they replace the sensors? Just might need to reset it.

Does not matter. New sensors needed with tire change.

    Things I need to tow.
If you changed tires to the same wheels and the wheels went back on in the same positions, you should just have to reset the system (instructions are in the owners manual). Each wheel has a sensor in it that's registered with the TPMS computer. I've been told the computer even knows what corner each sensor occupies, so they may need to be re-registered in the computer. Any good tire store should know this. I had a store do mine and it took maybe five minutes.

Most likely just air pressure, too high or too low will set the light off. If the light came in right when you started it up after new tires, then sessot could be bad. Check your air pressure first, then go from there.

Guy who installed told me the rugged terrains were at 30 psi, while the ATs he put at 45 due to the thick sides/. A friend just put 17" ATs (mine are 16") on a new 2014 tacoma and has them at 40 psi, no issues. Maybe Im a little too high?

No being high won't trigger them.
    Did you try reseting them?
If so and the light is still on one might be damaged...

Fill up to your desired pressure and hit the TPMS reset button to tell the sensor that the current pressure is "normal."

Hit the reset, still on. Same wheels. The tire man said the sensors were fine..

sometimes you have to press and hold the reset for a few seconds. also, it may take about 20 miles of driving for the truck to realize the TPMS sensors are good to go. it took my truck almost a half hour of highway driving before it realized my TPMS sensors werent even there anymore

I believe he did put the wheel weights on the inside for better aesthetics but not sure if that would throw anything off.

LARGER WHEELS. DIFFERENT STEREO. PUSH BAR. TAILGATE EXTENDER. WIPER MOD. TPMS LIGHT DELETE MOD.
The very first sensor I had to replace was broken by an inept tire technician. If you go from wheel to wheel with a scanner, the wheels will all show that they are active. When you (IF YOU) get to a wheel that shows nothing on the scanner, that's the one that needs replaced....
