    Well, it's just about that time to purchase new tires. I've got about 40K on the stock tires (245/75-16). I still have some time on 'em but I'll need to change them before winter sets in. I thought I'd change to the 265/75-16 just for the beefier look. My concern is gas mileage. Anyone make this change and notice a rise in their gas consumtion? It should be the same diameter so the speedometer won't be a problem but with more tire on the ground more drag? BTW......it's a Prerunner.

    The rule of thumb is the bigger the tire the less mpg... As far as having a tire 20mm wider, im sure it will affecr the MPG but not sure how much. The guys on this site are pros so im sure you'll get your answer, but they're post all over on this topic. Just search around: Try some of these threads posted before:
