Hey, it's a good excuse to buy a MIG setup, maybe even a plasma cutter.

Yeah it is. Next will be driveline vibes, extended brake lines, or something. That's how it usually goes anyway.

Brake lines are done. Luckily I don't feel any vibes but I did a carriage drop

Does not wander. Positive castor actually helps to prevent wondering.

Don’t know exactly how they did it but I do not rub off-road with my 285. Posted pics thus far to show setup. Just trying to help so if someone wants different pics let me know.

If you have your last alignment sheet that would help with people on 285s. also good to know if you have an aftermarket adjustable UCA.

wheel offset is a big factor too. More negative offset makes rubbing more likely on the cab mount.

I bought the truck in May and have not had an alignment yet. I doubt I can get one from the original build and alignment at this point.

Nevermind, read wrong. Your tires should be like 1/8 overall smaller than a 285/75r16. Not enough to make a difference. All trucks will be a bit different, and your wheel offset mixed with alignment look to allow you to clear. I would't expect it's possible on other trucks though. Maybe, but I wouldn't take that as a rule. 99% of people don't get there.

Sounds like a big box or franchise shop scared of the lawyers shop.

Go to an indy that likes trucks and performance cars, keeps their rack calibrated and will work out of the bounds of the numbers if you wish.

The 'it's in the green' guys are the CNAs of alignments; you want Dr. House.

Not sure what you're trying to answer? You said that the first time, and my reply mentioned a couple of 'normal' things.

But here's the bad news. Your pre purchase reading was incorrect, and more changes of some type are going to be needed.

Keep in mind that tire clearance has much more to do with tire size and wheel fitment than lift.

Do the tires rub on the upper control arms at all? I want to buy the 4Runner TRD pro wheels like you have but the +4 offset I would think they'd rub on the control arms. I have the same Nitto tires as you do 285/70/17 and people have said the 7.5 width of the pro wheels are to skinny for that size of tires. Have you had any problems?

I have had no issues whatsoever. I love the way this thing wheels. I have done some moderate and difficult rated trails with no rubbing. Youtube China Wall, Slaughterhouse Gulch, Tin Cup Pass, and Mt Baldy all in Colorado to see the types of trails. These are the ones I have done in the past 2 months or so.

Forgive me if this is a dumb question, but is there not a chance (Or at least a very small one) that it will damage the tire? I have 265/75R16s aand would love to put 285s on. I don't care about rubbing if it's not going to damage my tires or do any serious damage

It’s possible to lose lugs on the tire with enough rubbing.

I have Toytec Boss Aluma 2.5 which gives it a 2.5" lift and 285/75/16. No rubbing. Might be your spacers.

People need to start posting their offset along with lift.
