Nothing like a new set of tires!

I am getting my Michelin 265 /70 R16 112T SL OWL Defender LTX M/S tires installed today.

    Hell yes! :bananadance:

A little of this and a little of that.
Nice! I have the MS/2's on my truck and they're a great tire.

If they are as good as the LTX MS2s you will love them.

Its the updated model of the MS2. From Michelin.com; "The MICHELIN® Defender® LTX® M/S combines the proven tread design of the LTX® M/S2 with Evertread™ compound to provide durable tread life, no matter the season."

Don't know if it's an urban legend, but have heard not to judge your new tires, especially in wet conditions, until you have 200-400 miles on them, so that all traces of "mold release" have worn off. Anyone else have an opinion?

TireRack.com says; "…tires are cured, a release lubricant is applied to prevent them from sticking in their mold. Some of the lubricant stays on the surface of your tires, reducing traction until it is worn away. Five hundred miles of easy acceleration, cornering and braking will allow the mold release lubricant to wear off…"

Let my wife drive. It won't take 500 miles to wear that shit off. And I'm not joking. :(

Tires installed! Discount Tire was a madhouse due to their big sale this weekend. I made my appointment online though and I was in and out in 90 minutes. They were telling everyone at the counter "three hour wait"! So far I am liking the new tires a lot, nothing like a new set of tires!
