hey guys so i have a few questions for you guys that play drums, i just bought a drum set for a pretty good price iv always wanted to learn but i don't have time for lessons. so i was hoping to possibly teach my self as much as a can and have a buddy teach me when i can get together with him from time to time.

anyway i guess i was just wondering on any websites, books, tabs, videos anything that you guys would recommend to help me out.

also im not musically challenged i have been playing guitar for about 10 years so i understand I'm not a complete noob just to the drum world :D anyway any help would be awesome thanks!!

I learned by listening and trying to copy drummers that I like. I've taught myself how to play drums/guitar entirely by ear. Although I'm not a noob to music either, I took piano (yes I know... my parents made me) from age 5 to 16 haha.

but on the other hand i have picked up a little here and there in the past few days learned a new beat today from a friend....i guess ill figure it out eventually haha thanks for the help man

learn basic stick skills, internet is your friend, and play away. its one instrument that actually allows a person to not have to remember a damn thing and still sound good.

ya I'm having a little issue with my left arm/hand I'm not used to moving it all over the place I'm just used to moving my fingers haha.

i deff need to work on the stick skills and as far as memory goes i can totally see what you mean

any good website that you might know of for music sheets, lessons, videos?? i have found a few but they all seem a little scattered with their "lessons"

yeah i know nothing about drums, but sometimes when i play with my friends i'll go the the drums and just do a basic snare/symbol/bass beat going and have a blast. . . then go ape shit on the snare leading into chorus, back to beat on verses, symbols to lead out the song at the end and then it's over. . anybody can do it
