    Hi! I just joined :)
So I have a 2018 TRD Off-Road. Mostly stock except for some KO2s and the Pro wheels. I've owned a lifted truck before but never actually bought the parts/done the research.

I'm a geotechnical field geologist, I'm in 4H/4L daily and can drive through some pretty nasty sites. Lately I've been bashing my skid plate more often now that we're getting into winter it's starting to really worry me.

I want to do a 2.5" - 3" lift and I think I've set my sight on King. The parts are easy enough to buy, but what else do I need for a lift like this? UCAs? Leafs? Hydraulic bump-stops?

I have no idea what adding leafs are actually for, and I'm hoping for some brand recommendations along the way if I need them and UCAs.

Also, the on-road body roll on the stock suspension can make me a bit nauseous, will the Kings help with it?

Leafs lift the rear of the truck. Brand depends on your pocket book. Dakar, Alcan, Icon, Deaver with the latter being the best but you’ll pay.

UCA aren’t necessarily needed but will assist with alignments. I recommend a moog style join like JBA or even SPC as they are lower cost, and easier to maintain.

You don’t really need hydro bump stops. A good set of timbrens will do the trick.

Kings won’t help with body roll that’s what the sway bar is for.

That said I recommend reviewing the suspension forum because it can be a bit of a rabbit hole

700lb springs will lessen the body roll.

If I'm getting the 2.5" rear adjustable kings, do I still need leafs?

Add a leafs help a bit with rear squat. I live them because thier cheap and can be easily installed. I added about 1.5 in with my five lug. I will refrain from further advice because of the huge differences between the 6 and five lug suspension.

Yes you will need some sort of booster for the rear, otherwise it will look a bit funny with your nose in the air. Blocks are super cheap, but I believe lower 5 lugs and raise 6 lugs. Now that's the extent of my knowledge

Couple things, would the line extensions come with the King kit or do I need to buy them?
Also, is the diff and CB drop 100% necessary? Why is it done?

Diff drop keeps the CV joints at better angles.
Cb (carrier bearing spacer) helps keep driveline in close to stock position also may need axle shims to keep driveline vibrations to a minimum.

Yes. Shocks don’t lift, they dampen.

You won’t need extended brake lines if you are getting the OEM kit and I wouldn’t bother with a diff drop. Shins and a CB drop may be needed but you may not need them at all.

Agreed with joe the suspension forum is a rabbit hole. Grab a pencile and a notebook because you're gonna find some shit.

I don’t think the extended brake lines come with the king kit. It’s nice to have them because they are metal. Suspension is confusing and everyone seems to have a bunch of different opinions.

I am nearly on this same set up. 255/85R16 Toyo MTs (33.5") and the OME heavy kit (Dakar leaf pack in the rear). Total lift was approx. 2" (mounted and measured went from 29ish inches to 33ish inches) from new tires, plus another 2.5" from the OME kit. Netted 4.5" taller than stock. Give or take a tenth or so.

Stock UCA, stock bumps, stock brake lines, no cab mount chop, stock wheels.
