Nice! How was the water crossing? I've always wanted to go there but always have been iffy about it

Not bad at all, probably up to half the wheel. There were 3 crossings and then a mud pit to get to the main area. We got to the mud and turned around. The river crossings were fun though.

Washed the truck and decided to go a little further. Underneath the rockers was caked with a coat of dirt from never being properly washed off. So I got a wet rag and it cleaned off pretty easy. Then I decided to do the frame! This won't be a show queen but I want to start completely fresh. So eventually I'll be doing a more in depth frame and suspension cleaning.

After that it was time to take off the motor craft oil filter and put an oem filter on, as well as the drain nipple since it was missing.
    IMG_1137.jpg

And finally popped on the left and center caps since they were missing also!

Just changed the spark plugs for peace of mind and I'm glad I did. They were the original set, definitely going to go the transmission pan gasket and filter next...

Did a rough mock up of the wheels I ordered a while back. Not sure if I'm feeling them, maybe a bigger tire would set it off?

You're right man, damn I had this perfect image in my head when I bought them, but that was originally for a 05-09 body style.

Probably going to finish the restoration on the faces and put them up for sale...

No as in hell yes it looks good. Lol. Very retro and unique, clean, if its like your mock up will look great bud. So sick of seeing fuels and methods everywhere.

Not at all, they actually look similar in design to the SCS F5's which a lot of guys run. once you clean them up with the TRD center caps will look dope.

Transmission fluid came in today, going to drop the pan and change the filter tomorrow hopefully! I also got the oem fittings to extend the rear diff breather, just need to get the right size hose now.

Those look great, my buddy was saying I should paint the faces black and keep the chrome lip. Similar to the trd setup

Thanks! I guess I'll stick it through and see how they turnout once the faces are done. I got the truck a week ago today, it's definitely one of the best decisions I've ever made

Thanks everyone! Picking up the trans filter o-ring today since it doesn't automatically come with a new filter. Not sure if I will be working on it tonight or tomorrow, but I will post pics when I do!

For now here's a pic of my favorite scented air freshener that just came in the mail. The dealer sprayed a horrible baby powder scent in it and I can't stand it!
