New (to me) shell advice

    I used those type of bolts AND clamps.

    This is what my leer uses.

    A bolt goes down through the fiberglass lip of the cap, and threads into a insert that is in the tacoma trac system. Very secure, I snug them every 6 months or so, but they are usually plenty tight.

    I had some concerns on this as well, but as I have a Leer figured other makes have different systems. I have never seen a direct bolt to truck system (not saying there is anything wrong as I'm not familiar with it). Just out of curiosity did you drill into the bed rails to mount this cap? Or is the lip of the cap hiding the connection to the bed rail?
