Hey all, just purchased a 1995.5 Tacoma 2.4l manual trans with 162k miles. Frame is pristine and overall pretty clean but the guy i got it from used it as a 2nd work truck and no idea when the last maintenance was done to it so i'm going to assume it's been awhile.

Here's a list of parts i'm looking at replacing. Anything else that i'm missing and should be doing with the current mileage? Oil filter isn't on there as i'll be grabbing one from the dealership since it's only couple dollars

    4 run, 2 don't
Automatic? I'd do the transmission fluid and filter (drop the pan for that).

I also replaced my radiator, but because it had a crack in it. I'd replace the coolant in the event that it's been mixed/topped off with water/etc.

I'm not familiar with the 5-lug, but fuel filter is most likely original as well.

    Too many…
I’d change, diff, tranny and t case oil too. All depends how much you want to spend. Maybe throw in a fuel injector cleaner in it to.

Drain and fill the transmission, gear oil is relatively cheap and if it was a work truck he probably just kept using it without doing the trans. Manuals aren't as sensitive to lack of maintenance as autos are but some fresh gear oil will make it feel much smoother. I recommend Redline MT90...not cheap but it will make it feel brand new.

For the rear diff, any regular (non synthetic) 75w90 gear oil is fine

Enjoy changing the fuel filter, lol, I put mine in backwards... ran ok but my concience made me turn it around. Ain’t no party like a Tacoma fuel filter party. Twice. Ehhhhhh :frusty:
