New to Performance Upgrades, Turbo? Supercharger?

I'd like to see about what I could do for some more power from my Tacoma, ideally something that isn't too big of an undertaking. I've seen lots of info about superchargers, but those look pretty expensive and a lot of work and new parts.

Are turbo's similar to superchargers in that you can just buy a kit and install it? Same level of effort/cost?

Are there other options for getting some more power out of the engine that isn't super expensive or work intensive?
