Hey all, I just bought a cement 2018 Taco 4x4 off road. I was wondering if anyone has some links to find out how to remove the annoying safety sensors (door open, seatbelt, etc).

I am also interested in any small upgrades I can do to improve the look of my Tacoma. I have seen the “raptor” style grill and upgraded LED interior lights. Is there anything else anyone can recommend!?

I dont think you can remove those as they are required by law.

    Welcome -

You may be looking for the dealer type customizations, for example you can disable/enable the autolocking doors or turn off the buzzer for the seat belts not be fastened. A few basics are available on the infotainment under vehicles settings. Some safety features can be disabled, though I think some cause constant notifications on your display. Dealer of course can do it for a cost, or free if they are feeling nice that day. Carista can do some, if not all, of them as well.

Common as well as is Techstream (Toyota dealer software) and the Tactrix cable. Not only can you do the customizations, but you can run all the diagnostics and security functions. If you're so inclined that cable can also be used to do custom tuning as well.

Only thing i've done is turn those annoying lane and sensors that tell you too close off. Imo, those are for folks that can't drive.

You can do customizations through the Carista app and Bluetooth dongle for the cheapest option id say. And don’t worry about looking for mods lol you stay here long enough and you’ll be buying stuff you never knew you needed :spending:

So true, one would never realize how much they hate chrome, can't close the tailgate from inside the bed, and have no privacy for roadside #2's until they've been on TW.
