Hey all, I’m new to Tacoma and will be buying my first truck (2023 TRD OR) when I graduate grad school. Let me get to the meat and potatoes. I will be mostly using this truck for 8ish mile daily commutes to and from work and for mild off roading (Florida off roading, so flat lol). Won’t necessarily need a lot of axle clearance. Will mostly entail dirt roads, some hunting, some mud, beach/sand, the ocasional small boat launch, but most importantly, water fording! My job requires me to be at work, REGARDLESS OF WEATHER (I’m a first responder). And as some of you might know, Florida flooding can get real intense, specially in storms. I’m talking I need easy, 24”+ of comfortable fording (would love to push 30+, if possible). My first mods will be, naturally, a snorkel and diff intakes (probably ARB). My questions: I’d love to run 33s, is that advisable or not, and if so, 2 or 3” lift? (Would love some recommendations on lift kits too)
What other mods should I consider? what snorkel do y’all recommend?
