Well I'm new here and have a couple questions.

First let me start off by telling you a little about me.

My name's Andrew and I'm 17. I currently have a 2002 Prerunner Access Cab. (Or whatever it is that has the pop-out rear windows, and the crappy fold down bench seat) I use to drive a 2005 Ford Focus ZX3, but due to transmission problems for the second time, I've decided to get this. This use to be my Stepdad's truck and he didn't take very good care of it, but it still drove fine and everything worked. There is a dent in the hood from where I decided to pull a Dukes of Hazard hood slide and it dented the raised part of it, but I did put a rag on it and popped it out with a hammer. Semi-Good as new!
I have gone Off-Roading with it and its pretty damn impressive for a 2wd truck with bald back tires.

    As for the questions:

What is meant by "adding an output shaft off of a 2wd transmission?"

I do intend on converting it to 4wd and selling it is out of the question, so hers my next one, since its all bolt-on, what is specifically needed to convert it to 4x4 without the Solid front axel?

Oh, and as far as my info goes, focaljet.com is my old home. It's a website for focuses and I was a pretty big part of it, and being a 17 year old senior in High School limits the car options, so I stuck with the truck.

And another thing, don't talk shit on my old Focus. I loved car so keep it to yourself, unless it's a compliment.

    Thanks in advance!

As for the mechanical skills, I'm pretty sure I could do it. In my Focus I hit a curb drifting in a parking lot, I MEAN I was talking to my friend and hit a curb... so I took it to a Car-Repair place and they quoted me $1900 for a bunch of random crap. So I fixed it myself, replacing the Lower Control Arm, Sway Bar Link, and my rim. Not to mention I replaced it on my own accord.

I saw G-something, had noted something about converting the output shaft for the front, but he didn't go in depth, so I was rather confused.

that guy is kind of a freak, I never really understood him.

anyway this conversion is going to be way more intensive than replacing a control arm on a focus. You will need a transmission (I think), transfer case, diff, CV axles, 2 new driveshafts, and also figure out how to make the computer work with all this stuff. Search around here and especially TTORA for more info.

Yea TTORA will have lot of info on this.

Might just have to do an ECU swap and rewire the whole thing..

I have searched all over the place, and everyone is pretty inconsistent with part lists and the actual write up's. But I have read that it's pretty much just all bolt-on and if I was to get a Locking Hub setup, I wouldn't have to do any modifications to the ECU, and not to mention it is a Prerunner so doesn't that mean I wouldn't have to do anything to the ECU anyways?
