The radio will be able to power the backup camera, but you have to wire it to the reverse light at the back of the truck or the reverse wire inside the truck in order to make it work when you shift into reverse. For maybe two weeks after we installed it, I would manually switch on the backup camera because my neighbor hadn't figured out how to wire it up. Ironically, we ended up using TW as a reference!

Also, I can still turn on my backup camera without switching into reverse. It's fun sometimes to switch it on when I doing like 45 MPH, especially when I've got a friend in the truck because it freaks them out!

Their T4R has a three-pedal millennial anti-theft device known as a manual transmission! I am one of those rare millennials who actually knows how to drive a stick shift!

Thanks I’ll definitely keep that in mind! It would definitely be sick to hit the freeway and turn that on haha

The white one has a slushbox and the beige one is manual, right?

He also has a mint, all-original '91 Toyota long bed 2WD pickup! Strangely enough it has an automatic transmission but no A/C!

I’m a bit rusty as I haven’t driven it in a few years but it was always fun to do so when I could. I have a bad left leg (thus explaining the disabled parking pass) from surgery I had at 15 but I’m big into drifting and racing so I always love to see manual 3RZs!

Ooh I love the old Toyota Pickups, they have an older feel and look to them but it’s a dream to 2JZ one hahaha.

My friend has a 95 Tacoma and his A/C is colder than most new cars I’ve been in with 210k miles!

Also, that red 2009 Ford Ranger I told you about...?

I wanted that truck more than the Tacoma, but in the end I'm glad my dad put his foot down and settled for the Tacoma.

This Ranger was unique because it a LOADED regular cab. The XLT trim on regular cab Rangers is not uncommon, but this one not only had automatic and A/C; It also had tilt steering, cruise control, power windows, and power locks! You'd think if someone wanted all those options, they would have paid extra for the 4.0L V6 or at least the 3.0L V6. Nope! It had the 2.3L 4-cylinder! The truck also had a CD player with an AUX input. My dad and I believe this Ranger was a custom order that somebody decided they didn't want. The sticker was almost twenty grand, and my dad almost bought it the day we test drove it, but the dealer wouldn't move far enough below the sticker price for his liking; Like I said, that was a sweet Ranger, but I think that in the long run the Tacoma was the better choice.

@Running Man had a '95 Tacoma with about 270K miles. He drowned it in a flash flood and actually got it running again, only to total it months later...

That definitely sounds like a great Ranger! I love a lot of the old and new Rangers I’ve heard a few problems with them but nothing substantial. Maybe it is better you got a Taco, putting time into your car really brings in a sense of pride to it too.

My friend with the 95’ Tacoma actually put in seats from a 2000 Ford Ranger into his and fits really well though the bolts don’t fit exactly where they need to.

Rangers also have the same bolt pattern as 5-lug Tacos, so wheels from any Ranger will fit any 5-lug Tacoma! I had aftermarket 16" Platinum Apex wheels on my Tacoma from October 2013 to March 2019. Before I ultimately went back to the stock 15" wheels, I considered putting these on my truck; These were the upgraded wheels on Ford Rangers from 1993 to 2000 I believe...

    @Kinkybearcat

What are the aftermarket wheels you got on your truck, and what tires do you have? I have Cooper Discover AT/3s on my truck right now, which I love, so I plan on getting them again when the time comes!

I’ll be honest I’m not too sure what rims are on my truck as my dad got it out the lot with them, but I have seen other Toyota’s on the road with the same rims as mine too. As for tires I haven’t changed them since my dad last changed them when he had them but I believe they are Yokohama’s Geolanders H/T-S. They definitely have some miles on them.

I do, I just physically can’t do it well but I definitely know how. I’m terrible at reverse though.

Ditch those Geolandars as soon as it's time to replace 'em! I've never been a big fan of Yokohamas...
