I've had a lot of rigs. Every gen Bronco till '96, half a dozen Wranglers and as many F series trucks. I just put a deposit on a '23 PRO last week. Build date Sept 20th. I'm impatiently waiting... I had a 80 something with a 22R 20 years ago. Excited to be back in a Toyota soon.

Congrats. You will probably find, like many here, that we have a love/hate relationship with our trucks. Don't get me wrong, I love my truck, but I was less than trilled the lack of torque the engine delivers at lower rpms, or the gear hunting. I would hope they ate least fixed the hunting issue by now(I have a "19). I also got a tune that cleared up those shortcomings. It is a great truck for my needs. I am sure you will love yours too.

As to the last comment, what does "why" even mean?

I've had three Jeep JK's, I'm used to underpowered LOL. The PRO I ordered is a MT, no gear hunting unless it's by me.

Meh.. I usually had F150's, just got out of a F 350 18 months ago. I normally had a Jeep and a truck. One for off road and the other for life. I now have neither. So now that I'm in the market again I'm looking for a truck I can "off road". Hence... Tacoma TRD PRO

I bet it won’t stay stock pro for long judging from what you just said. Don’t forget to post your build when it happens .

Fair enough... definitely not afraid to try something new. Though I have had a few really cool builds. My last was a 2012 2 door Jeep JK with 4" Rock Crawler/37" tires/cut fenders and a turbo charger. That lasted 6 years.

I'm excited for this new venture

Welcome to TW and good choice :) You will never catch me in an FCA/Stellantis product ever again after the fiasco of owning a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Lasted 200 miles before needing a new cylinder head and spent more time in the shop than out the first 3 months of ownership. So far the Taco has been rock solid after 18 months.
