Not sure if your heart is set on a 2020, but when I bought my '17, I saved $4k on it because the '18's were coming out. Clearance sales can be a beautiful thing!

Thanks man! I'm in Denver, so probably not as cold as WI. How are you doing without heated seats? And are you happy with the cloth?

Test drive was great. I did two actually. I used to have a 6-speed mini cooper s, but don't know about "hunting gears". Anything I should know?

That's a great point. The only thing I really like about the 20s is the powered driver seat and the apple car play. There is a dealership near me that has a 2019 TRD pro and they just dropped the price by $2k :santa:

Is the quote in writing? If so you can always shop it around to a few more dealers. They are always willing to beat prices.

Oh yea I got everything in writing. Was kind of slimy how they treated me. First quoted me monthly price of $850, then got my bank on the phone and they said $570.

I’d find a model with the exact specs as the one you’re looking at that is IN STOCK at another dealer, email their internet sales dept and take a picture of your quote. They will beat your quote to earn your business almost every time.

10% off MSRP is typically the going rate.

I've had leather heated seats, and more basic cloth seats.

When I had the leather heated seats, I only ever used them to initially warm up, otherwise they were too hot for long-term use. Outside of that, the leather was extremely cold in the winter and hot in the summer. While the cloth is not heated, it is far and above more breathable; meaning, more comfortable in varied environments. That, and the Taco's heating system gets going pretty quick and warms up the cab in no time. It's a nice feature to have, sure, but something I've personally rarely used in the past (really only in single digit temps and below).

One thing to consider is longevity, as well. You'll get the total "analog is superior to all" people here and there - the just something else that'll break argument - but if you tend to keep vehicles long-term, sometimes less is more. Replacing a cloth seat without heaters will be far easier, and less costly, than the opposite.

Of course, all of that may get thrown out the window if a significant other lives and dies by heated seat features; women tend to always feel colder than men do imo, especially in winter. If there would be too much arguing/complaining to deal with, that may trump the above.

the first one I test drove had cloth and I actually preferred the 2019 cloth over the two-tone in 2020s. I just sold my x5 and never really felt like i needed the heated seats. I retain a lot of heat, which I guess is a good thing seeing as I live in Denver. I honestly didn't even use my sunroof that often. With windows down in tacoma, do you feel like you get enough air and good light? I'm basically looking at $100 difference in monthly payment to get advanced tech and premium package, so am wondering if I'd miss having these things if I don't get them.

Plenty of light, air, and great visibility. In my climate, it's at or below freezing about half of the year, so it wouldn't make much sense as well.

This would also fall into the category of more future maintenance, personally, as I do not intend on selling the truck. A solid roof panel will be far more durable than one with a sunroof, long-term.

Funny enough, not having BSM/backup sensors from the tech package saved me some hassle. Over the summer, I was rear-ended while stopped at a stoplight; no major damage outside of a ruined plastic OEM bumper. The payout from that allowed me to get the rear steel bumper I wanted and removing the OEM bumper was far easier without having to replace the sensors/additional wiring.

GREAT ADVICE!! I bought a 19 this past Jan - I called/emailed every dealership within a 4 hour drive. I got my responses (some dealerships did not respond) and I drove 2+ hours and was in and out within the hour! Good luck!!

Wow! Beautiful truck. Yea I never really cared for all of the bells and whistles. Personally, I don't even like the idea of having a back up cam, but i think it makes more sense with a truck. I don't think I can get over not having the apple carplay or power driver's seat, so will most likely stick with 2020. Now it's just figuring out if I really need the other packages.
