Wish more people knew to do this. A couple hours of research and emails can save you a lot of money.

I'm floored too - my dad passed last Thanksgiving (year ago) - and he did all the negotiating for vehicles (and everything else). My parents live about 7 hours away and my mom wanted a new car - she knew she wanted a Subaru Forrester - a friend of hers at church has one. I actually did all the research and emails to dealerships from my office (I emailed dealerships between her and me) - I called my mom and told her we had a deal - actually a dealership near her. I actually took my family for a visit but she was planning on just going in and buying the car. It is not only savings in money but a HUGE time saver. I'm shocked at folks spending hours in a dealership.

Yea good point. I just sent my quote out to another dealer and I didn't know that the tonneau cover that would be added on at the original dealer was after-market and would have been soft top as opposed to tri-fold that comes from manufacturer. I wish the sales rep would have told me that.

LOL - be careful - often the salesman isn't trying to pull one over (some are) but rather just rushing and not detail oriented (that is where you being patient and non emotional comes in). I always negotiate price - never payment - if you have to finance arrange it before with your bank (shop rates too). Often the dealership can beat the financing with promos, but they do - intentionally - use payments to muddy the water.

Colorado has lots of rocks if you like to offroad. Might be worth looking at a set of sliders with a 20` angle instead. Heavier, but has that same insurance plus a little extra towards the bed if you get a pair with a kick out, plus they still function as a side step albeit less likely to cause bruises because of the angle.

I don't get what the hoopla is over a powered seat. I rarely adjust mine, so the handle does the same thing. And not one to knock Apple (big fan), but for my needs it really doesn't do much more than my Entune system. My son has it in his 2019 CRV.

But would I take Apple CarPlay? Absolutely!!

    I asked for and got:
    OEM Tub mats (imitation Weathertechs)
    PRO Grill
Tri fold soft top Tonneau cover
    Winter tire/rim combo

I kept asking for more, until the salesman said there was no more meat left on the bone. :p

I think you got a pretty good price, especially in Colorado. Like others have stated, 10% is about where you wanna be. Having said that, there are other factors at play too such as if you have a trade, are you getting low balled on your trade or are they giving you a fair price? Also, do they have EXACTLY what you want and/or are they willing to order to your exact specs. These are factors that I would consider. I got $4591.00 off my 2020 Sport here in Pennsylvania. Best Of Luck To You!

I wouldn't worry about the initial cost of the truck so much unless you are keeping it bone stock. Within the first year I had another $10-13k+ into mine after adding a heavier suspension package, tires, bed rack, sliders, belly pans, RTT, and a ton of other mods. Stuff I should have deleted from the original order were mud flaps and whatever they call that aluminum foot rail. Tell the dealer what tires you want if you want them to sweeten the deal a bit.

pulled the trigger last night. So happy with the setup. Corny photo of me with the truck. 2020 OR with premium/advanced tech package with manual transmission. Getting sliders and blackout emblems installed next week. Now I’m scared to take the truck out on the streets with these crazy drivers. This is how new moms must feel about their babies.
