Nice truck OP! You'll get many miles & years of reliable service from this vehicle if you take care of it. I can't comment on the towing since I've never towed with mine. The 2.7L are dogs, no getting around it. But basically bullet proof design if you follow Toyota maintenance guidelines. I plan on keeping my 2012 2.7L 4x4 I purchased new until the wheels fall off since it's not my daily driver but it comes in handy for around the yard chores and hunting equipment in fall/winter months.

Strangely, I’m finding this pretty ok on acceleration compared to what others are finding. If I turn it into S mode or use the ect, acceleration is 100x better. Night and day. But then again I’m also coming from a 2001 corolla and a 2009 Honda Civic and I’m finding this to be a lot smoother, peppier and faster ride lol

    sharkdude100,
The Westin hitch I put on my Taco was Part # 65-1565. It was $130.15 when I purchased it through Amazon back in early 2019.

Sweet thanks, I found a couple other models for maybe $50 more. Seems like with the wiring and hitch shouldnt cost more than $300 if that. Easy price.

Edit: seems like that hitch only tows up to 2000lbs

'08 4 banger here. Pushing 170 on the clock, bought it with 160. After some maintenance, (and a new frame) no complaints. Mine's a stick, so keeping it wound-up on access ramps is on me, not the AT. Not a problem, that little 2.7 doesn't complain of being buzzed up when needed.
Consistently get right around 20mpg, as a DD. Cool thing about it, parked next to another Taco with the hood down, no one's the wiser. :D
Congrats on your new purchase, you'll like this place.

It's a Class III Hitch, which means that it will tow up yo 5000lbs with a tongue weight of up to 500lbs. Where did you see a 2000lbs rating?

Huh, they also say that it has a 1 1/4" tube opening. 1 1/4" tube opening is correct for a Class I hitch (2000lbs rating). All of the other listings that I see, just list it as a Class III hitch.
All I can say is that they are wrong. Mine has a 2.5" (edit: 2" receiver. sorry) receiver opening, and is definitely a Class III hitch. I used to work at an RV Sales and Service, and I can tell a Class III hitch when I see it. Make your own call.

not familiar with azzhole driving/chillax ??????

slow bump & grind stop light cycles are worst than almost ANY type driving = commuter driving

puts MORE cycles on brakes & transmissions ............ no less that when an engine loads up & Pollutes the MOST !!

Congrats on your new truck, OP! It’ll be a great and reliable machine for you for as long as you choose to keep it. My ‘07 will probably be really close to 300K by the end of the year, with no problems besides those I’ve inflicted, haha. It’s so reliable I take it for granted.
