    Hey forum,
my name is Gerald and yesterday i just totaled my Lexus ISF. I've always loved the look of the tacoma and wanted to know what model (base, trd, etc) did you guys choose knowing that you will modify the car (bumpers, suspension, racks, etc). I've always bought fully loaded vehicles and then end up replacing everything so did you guys just bought a blank canvas and build up? thanks in advance.

Welcome! Have a look through the posts- there are lots of opinions on build vs buy and pros and cons of different trim packages. Sorry to hear about the Lex- hope everyone is ok.

I bought the TRD Offroad. Saved some $ over getting the Pro. Spent the savings on armour, sliders and suspension.

Welcome! I bought the TRD sport 4x4. Blank canvas. In hindsight, I would have gone with the Off road for a little extra money but then again, I really didn't see a need for the crawl control, multi-terrain-select and pitch/roll gauges. I wanted to keep price as low as possible, TRD 4x4 was only MUST. Anything else could be added one way or another through mods IMHO.
