I purchase a 2005 Tacoma and it doesn't have an alarm, so I search the usual spots and found one called: KapscoMoto 2 Way alarm for Toyotas. Has anyone heard of these or used one?

    Question.

When was the last time you heard an alarm going off and ran to help?

Yep. That's about how useful they are.

You can make your own kill circuit if you want to, and you can put some LED lights inside with stickers on the windows to scare away the middle school grubbers.

But if someone wants to ship your truck to S America, it's going, alarm or no.

Of course that's just IMHO. Someone will likely be along soon to tell us of the 14 exotics they have owned and how they were all saved from loss by alarm systems.

I understand what you are saying, but trying to get discount on insurance and also use the features to later put power locks on.

Price the unit, price the professional install.

What's the ROI on that based on the discount?

Not too sure why bother adding PL on a 13yo truck, but I do think that can be done outside of having an alarm system.

Sorry, I'm so slanted against them. But I've seen and removed so many that caused nothing but headaches for the owners.

    For example https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...3-dead-batteries-electrical-nightmare.486639/

I have a feeling that if the OP reports back the resolution that the alarm and/or it's installation will be key to the issue.

Ok, I'll move along now. Hopefully someone will come along and just answer the question you asked

    Good luck!
