Pretty easy decision…Decided to pass on the Off Road and I’m going to put the deposit on what will end up being a 2023. I can wait the 8-12 months. Not in that big of a hurry.

good move, I'd look around too, it sounds like those guys are dirt-pickles and won't do you any better on a new one too.

No. You could buy a lot of other, better trucks for $65k. Or two other Tacomas that will get the job done just as well as the Pro.

They quoted me 49k after tax, title, and license for the TRD Pro. Appears no markup there but I’ll definitely look around.

I paid $41K for a TRD OR in 2021 with 3K miles. Your call.

Maybe formulate in your mind how much you could see yourself realistically paying for the white OR. Let the sales person know that price. I am thinking the white OR will sit in their showroom if they remain firm at $65K. The dealer/sales person would probably like to make a sale off of you now rather than wait 8-12 months. Especially, once the 2023s start to arrive.

That’s a great point. Apparently been sitting in their showroom for two weeks already. We’ll se how long they can hold out. I’ll ride this out all day long. Haha

ask that they lower the price as it will take some effort to remove their crap accessories

I was in the same boat as you.

Put down a deposit this January for a white TRD Pro 6MT. My sales guy called once in February and asked if I was interested in a black Pro 6MT but I passed. If I'm paying MSRP I'm getting exactly what I want.

Never got a temporary VIN like some of these guys do when they put down a deposit. Today I text my sales guy because I saw a white TRD Pro 6MT on Toyota's online inventory in my region and asked if there was any way he could find out which dealer it was headed to and he said he had planned on surprising me when they confirmed it was my allocation.

Sounds like I'm finally getting mine 7 months later. I'll update y'all when it's confirmed. I definitely don't need a new truck but really didn't mind waiting and figured manual transmission vehicles are headed to extinction and wanted to snag one up before it was too late.

If I wasn't dead set on rowing my own gears I'd go with a Ranger or Frontier.

i moved cross country and changed jobs. No longer need the cargo space for work gear.

I just prefer small cars but if I ever have to be in something big again it’ll be a TRD Pro for sure. Such a solid truck.

U know, I'm 75 and am waiting for my 5th Tacoma to be built (tomorrow i hope). So you can see i Love Tacoma's, but my opinion: There ain't NO Tacoma worth $65K.

Offer them $39,999, tell them the prices for the mods on the truck, see what they come back with.

Why not just get an Off Road get the factory lift and do the rest yourself at a shop. Should be able to get an off road close or at msrp.
