New to the forum with 2001 taco crew cab silver

Just wanted to say hello and looking forward to modding my new toy.
2001 limited with rear dif lock. One owner with only 58k miles!!
With a matching camper shell and bed rug. Perfect condition! The original owner basically parked it in the garage the whole time he owned it and took it out once on the weekends for groceries.
I've been looking for a truck for a while and when i found this one i had to jump on it.

 

Welcome to TW! Sounds like a good purchase. I'm jealous of your locker. Hope to see your mods, make a build page for it for sure. I got mine last summer and I'm having loads of fun, first truck and it was exactly what I wanted.

It's a limited with trd suspension.
Running board and campershell with a bed rug that is removable.

I paid 15 for an 04 with 64k miles. I don't consider it to be a steal but I didn't see any trucks as nice as mine for less while I was looking.

 

You paid a fair price for the truck- feel good about it! I paid $15k for my double cab (TRD, 4x4) w/48k on it back in 2010. These trucks tend to hold their value well and don't last long on the market.

Regarding the above guy who bought his '04 for $15k w/64k, that's just an extended cab with a 4cyl, therefore, not relevant- you got the better deal.

 

I paid 17k in 2013 for my 03 double cab w/ 78k... It was on the high end but worth it IMHO. They go real quick here, and the dude was original owner, seemed to take nice care of his stuff. The bottom looks perf, no rust.

 

So i was doing some reading on here about frame rust.
So i took a look under the truck to see if there was any rust.
Nothing... the underside of the truck is spotless.
Looks brand new.

I did notice the shocks were a light blue Tokico brand..
Is this what it came with or did the original owner change them out?

Mine had blue shocks as well, but I've seen yellow shocks on other stock tacomas. Not sure what that tidbit of information means but... There it is
