What’s up all?! I’m about to be the proud new owner of a 2013 pyrite mica double cab 4x4 TRD Off road 6 speed. I’m not new to the Toyota game at all, I’ve owned 5 other yotas and still own my beloved 94’ 80series land cruiser. The truck is bone stock except for some custom sliders and a TRD short throw shifter. The truck lived at the dealership for all of its maintenance and it’s super clean. Body has 75000miles but the trans has 10k and the new motor has less than 1k miles. What is the first thing everyone does to these? I plan on doing the lift and tires later on when I have time to do the install. For now it will be my DD.

What did someone do to it to destroy the engine and trans in under 75K?

I’ll post up some pics tomorrow when I pick it up. There was some sort of blockage in the oil passage that caused a catastrophic fail. Toyota replaced the entire bottom end with a 100k mile warranty. The trans kept popping out of reverse and they couldn’t diagnose it so they replaced it with a new one. Also with a 100k mile warranty. Best Part is it transfers owners!

    Welcome to TW!

Any idea what the story is with the motor and transmission? 75K should be a pretty short life for those two components...

So you have a 2013 Tacoma with a brand new motor and tranny that have 100k mile warranties on them. That's freaking awesome.

I'd ask the dealer/seller whether that 100k Mile warranty is 100k from install or 100k total on the Odometer. That would be a huge difference given the truck has 75k on it now.

It’s 100k from install. Which makes it awesome. That swayed me to the bone stock 2013 over the built up 2010 that I was looking at.

blocked oil passage? Bad tranny? I hope you care for that Taco better than the previous owner. He clearly beat the hell out of it. Now you're starting fresh.

Really weird cake they took it to the dealer for everything! Oh well my gain

Thank you very much! Wish I could afford to keep them all!

Here’s two shots I was able to take before it got too dark. I’ll take more this weekend when the sun is out.
