New to the forum, long time Toyota owner.

    1984 - 375,000 km
    1996 - 450,000 km
    2007 - 455,000 km

Now with a 2018 Tacoma offroad access cab.

Not very happy with the new Tacoma, looking for ideas to make it acceptable or it it will be gone. So far this 2018 is the the most unpleasant ride I have ever had.

Test drive was not long enough for sure. However since I had lots of driving in my previous Tacoma's I expected at least the truck would be the same if not better. Hard to tell unless you get some real world experience on the test drive and I did't get that. My mistake for sure

The seat - too short, too soft and makes my back hurt even on short drives. Something my previous Tacoma's did not have. Still looking at options from a completely new seat to changing the stock seat.

Transmission - Shifts too much, makes hard shifts, engine gutless at lower RPM's. Yes I know this is all supposed to help with fuel economy, but how about a truck that is nice to drive. I have the shift sense pro which makes it a bit better, but its still not very good. Might try ovtune, still reading the huge thread on it.

There are many other things I don't like, but mostly I can live with them. But the seat and the transmission / engine is what I need to fix or get rid of the truck.

Well after owning this 2018 Tacoma off road access cab for 9 months I am in search of a replacement. I can't think of anything I actually like about this truck, and lots of things that I don't like a lot. Between the wacky shifting, unpleasant engine power curve and the uncomfortable seat I just can't take this anymore. Not sure what I'll get, maybe a 2nd gen like I had before, maybe something entirely different. So disappointed, but there you go.

Finally got rid of the Tacoma, yeah. Wishing I had done this sooner too.
