I bought my first Tacoma a little over a year ago after my Honda Accord was totaled. I've casually perused the website looking for ideas. Thoughts on a good project to start with? I'm a novice mechanic but willing to try. Car is a daily driver so I'd prefer not to get over my head on the first project! 2013 Tacoma Sport 6-Spd

I like the 6spd, I never have trouble finding the right gear (either around town or on the highway with traffic). I've never driven a Tacoma automatic so I'm not sure how it compares...

I know what you mean, it's pretty easy for me to drive as well. All the gears are great, except 6th could be a little taller for highway driving/better gas mileage. I've driven the 4spd auto (the one the 4cylinder trucks come with, but never the 5spd auto that the v6's came with). In my opinion, there's nothing nicer than a standard shift taco!
