As the title states this ain't my first pony ride! I had a '98 Tacoma Limited back in '98. Traded that a year later for the newly, at the time, introduced 2000 Tundra Limited. I kept that truck for 15 years...loved that truck! I traded that last year, on my birthday nonetheless, for a 2014 GMC Sierra SLE 4x4 Crewcab with the dealer installed lift, wheels and tires, exhaust, & interior.

Well the GMC was nice and a "real head-turner", but it was just too damn high, 6" lift, and big for me to drive daily! I know a lot of guys do it, but my plans were to keep it as long as my old trusty Tundra. I just couldn't see me getting in and out of that truck in my late 50's and early 60's...I'm 48 now. My only other complaint with the GMC other than the size and height was that it had developed a squeak under the dash that the dealership couldn't find on 2 occasions. That squeak drove me freaking NUTS!!!!! I just couldn't see that annoyance not turning into various other annoyances other the next several years. Besides it was only 2 years old with less than 30K on the odometer! So I took a "beating"on the trade and "came back home".

I started to get a Tundra, but it too is BIG and my trusty 2000 Tundra was the perfect size for me. Therefore, my experiences with Toyota, my wife has a '05 Sequoia, we've also had a 4-Runner and a Landcruiser (cursed the day we got rid if that truck!) I decided that the new Tacoma was close enough in size to my old Tundra...so here I am!

I just got it yesterday with 7 miles on it, Limited, RWD with Predator step bars, Magnetic Gray. My only complaint thus far is...why in the H&LL Toyota won't add power fronts seats to the truck!!! WTF!!!! To me the bottom part sits too level and low, but between the Tundra and cars I've had not onlydid they all have power seats, but they also were multi-positioned too. So I could just raise the lower seat to a more angled seating position. As it stands now there is nothing I can do and the lack of angle bothers my back for some strange reason. Oh well, I've introduced myself enough...

    Cya around!!!

Oh yeah, despite the lack of seating positions I love the truck and look to drive it many years and miles!!!

Whatcha mean? I owned a 2000 Tundra that I bought about 7 months after it was introduced. I kept that truck for 15 years! Sure it had some minor issues like most "first run" models but all in all it was an awesome truck, it never let me down. Except last year when the left front axel broke, but that was on me because of the front leveling kit I put on 12 years prior.

I've been on various forums since the mid '90's, with F-body forum being my first...'96 Trans Am. Anyway, it's always hard to gauge the "true" reliability of a vehicle based on forum talk because as most of you know ALL the complainers come to the forum for answers. You also have your pure enthusiast too. Over the years I have been in both camps...complainer and enthusist.

With all that being said the newly designed Tacoma will be fine.
