    Hows it going guys

Moved out here back in October for work from Massachusetts. Im a mopar guy at heart but just picked up my first tacoma this past weekend, 05 6cyl 2wd. Ive driven plenty of rwd cars through rough new england winters and couldn't find a need for 4wd. I am interested in some desert trips in the future after some mods though. Any advice about going to the desert with 2wd, seen mixed answers all over the place. Anyways, love the truck so far and the site. Joe

was running an 07 2wd with the rear locker for a while out here. does pretty damn good so long as you are aware of the trails you're on and drive smart. picked up an 11 with 4wd last year though and there just isn't a substitute for it.

congrats on the truck, and welcome

    Welcome,

If I may suggest a very good piece of advice from being sucked into the world of off-roading and now a big time desert person is you should go on a ride along with other people and find out what you like. The terrain is different out here and you may enjoy something else. So save your money for now and just drive out to events and hitch a ride.

As far as the 2wd thing goes, don't sweat it, 2wd will get you a lot further then you would think, especially with an lsd or locker.

Oh by the way, you add oil, Toyota will never let you down.
