New to TW.....almost didn't happen thanks to VW!!

Hi guys I'm checking in as a new member. I recently purchased a 2016 Limited 4x4 Taco in Silver Sky Metallic. So far loving the truck.

As the title says, this deal almost fell apart thanks to the recent VW diesel scandal. My previous ride was a 2012 VW Touareg TDI and I had planned on trading that vehicle in for the new Taco. Things were going as planned all year, until the scandal broke right after my dealer allocated a 2016 Tacoma for me.

Long story short, no dealers would take my VW on trade. I managed to sell it back to the original VW dealer I purchased it from for a slight hit. At the time I figured it was best to check out sooner then later, so I took my equity and ran. At the time only the 2.0 TDI engines were part of the scandal, but as of today (after having my new Taco for a week), the EPA announces the 3.0 TDI's and Touareg are now part of the scandal!! WHEW am I glad I got out.

Here are some pics of the old ride. Will miss the 406 ftlbs of torque, the sexy headlights and the massive brakes, but not the crap residual value.
